Restoration of a 19-acre former sawmill to a naturalized area and park with walking trails, boardwalks, and piers. Over the course of the project, a dam was removed, fishway installed to increase herring populations and several buildings were dismantled. More than 3 acres of impervious surface was excavated, concrete river walls were removed, and a bridge crossing was eliminated. During 2014, the natural river bank and floodplain was restored. More than one acre of additional red maple swamp and freshwater marsh was created, fields and forested uplands were planted, and invasive species were managed.
