This project involved removal of the 2-story powerhouse, 2 dams 12-30 feet high and 350 feet long alongside the banks of an historic manufacturing center, the filling / grading of the tailrace and the creation of a naturalized fishways with resting pools sculpted in separate channels flowing around an island that will be encompassed into a city park. A double Denil fish ladder 230 feet in length was also constructed on the western channel to accommodate the projected annual runs of fish migrating to the reopened river.
